With the Summer Games now officially underway after a spectacular opening ceremony directed by visionary British filmmaker Danny Boyle at the Olympic Stadium, WinkBall video reporters on Sunday 29th July hit central London looking to catch the excitement from the residents, tourists and game enthusiasts.
The opening ceremony is estimated to have cost £27 million and would surely be the highlight of the summer games in London and go down in the history of the Olympics.
At Hyde Park was the BT London Live where there was a live screening of all the days sporting activities. Lined up on the Mall were cycling enthusiasts, tourists awaiting the arrival of the Women’s Road Race cyclists.
The public are most looking forward to seeing the 542 athletes of Team GB. Will Usain Bolt steal hearts again with another too-easy finish; will Mo Farah be GB’s main man with double Gold? Or how about Oscar Pistorius helping South Africa make history in the 4x400m?
The excitement is brewing now!
WinkBall video reporters Laurent Betton and Nick Spearing spoke to the public to find out their thoughts on the remarkable opening ceremony and what they make of the games so far?
