Queen and Adam Lambert: HMV Apollo

On the 14th July 2012 fans from around the world journeyed to the HMV Hammersmith Apollo to witness the three-night London concert British rock legends Queen with special guest Adam Lambert. "Queenbert" took to the stage and reporters Archie and Laurent were able to talk to fans finding out, how successful the calibration would be and whether Adam Lambert is the right choice to bring Queen to younger fans or whether they had suggestions of other collaborations.

The legends Queen having formed in London in 1971, originally consisted of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar, guitars), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). Being around for over 40 years, Queen have always taken different avenues to influence their music with their earliest work being influenced by progressive rock, but then the band gradually venturing into more popular work. This incorporation of more diverse and innovative styles into music is what Queen have kept true to and bringing Adam Lambert in continues to make Queen’s audience more varied.

Lambert came to distinction following his appearance on the eighth season of American Idol and has a large following alone. With singer Freddie Mercury unavailable, guitarist Brian May chose Adam Lambert to join himself and drummer Roger Taylor’s by the `American Idol singer through his dramatic presence and vocal range.

Lambert worked through Queen’s renowned hits of Radio Gaga, We Are the Champions and We Will Rock You. Finishing the set with fabulous fireworks and lasers, Bohemian Rhapsody ended the night leaving fans elated.
